Anthony (Tony) Cottone represents healthcare clients, including healthcare providers, treatment facilities, healthcare groups and national hospital organizations in civil litigation. Tony’s main focus is on defense of medical malpractice claims, but also has great experience defending clients in various other matters such as Board of Medicine investigations, commercial disputes, employment claims, and general liability. He has a true passion for courtroom advocacy, which began as a criminal prosecutor. Since then, he has dedicated his career to represent the interests of medical professionals and healthcare organizations devoted to providing an invaluable service to our communities.

I take pride in working closely with our health care professionals to fully analyze a claim and develop a sound and strategic litigation plan. Tony is engaged in many professional organizations, including the Professional Liability Defense Federation (PLDF), and the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (VADA). He has served in numerous leadership roles with the PLDF and has been an author and presenter with the organization on numerous occasions. He continues to write and speak on many topics concerning healthcare claims, while remaining engaged and involved in new legal and medical developments impacting the field.
